Thank you for your interest in submitting a session proposal for the 2025 European Meeting of ISMPP. In an effort to design programming around ISMPP member input, the Programme Committee is accepting proposals for plenary, parallel, and roundtable topics.

This year’s theme is Core Values for an Integrated Age
In the evolving landscape of our profession, it is crucial to recognize both the opportunities and challenges that arise while staying grounded in the core values that have long defined the profession. The theme "Core Values for an Integrated Age" speaks to the necessity of being forward-thinking, especially as we navigate an era where technology, human insight, and patient involvement are increasingly intertwined with processes. This integration offers a unique chance to enhance the relevance and impact of our work, ensuring that while we evolve, we continue to uphold the principles of integrity, transparency, and patient partnerships that are the bedrock of our profession. By reflecting on these core values within the context of an integrated age, we can chart a course that honors our foundational principles while embracing the future of medical publications and communications.
Proposal Guidance
ISMPP strives to provide fresh content at each live meeting. Based on this we strongly encourage you to refer to the member archives of past European Meetings, particularly the 2024 European Meeting, to avoid duplicating a topic that has been previously presented. Exceptions to this are broad-based or evolving topics that warrant continued discussion. In those cases, please be sure that your proposed session represents an extension of what has been done previously and not merely a repeat of a prior session.
Creativity in format is encouraged as well as faculty diversity (ie, a mix of faculty, some of whom have not previously spoken at an ISMPP meeting as well as organizations that have not been previously represented, as well as those of varying backgrounds and experiences). The strongest proposals are ones which have faculty representing different organizations and viewpoints. Proposals with faculty all/majority from the same institution run the risk of being perceived as being too narrow and/or promotional. Those groups may be asked to reconsider speaker selection. If high quality proposals are received on the same or similar topic, groups may be asked to collaborate. Additionally, proposed faculty must be communicated with in advance of the proposal to gauge willingness and ability to participate.
Create an engaging session description that clearly communicates the value and benefits participants will gain from attending. Use descriptive language, highlight key learning points, and emphasize any unique or innovative aspects of your session. Make it concise and attention-grabbing.
Emphasize the relevance and importance of the topic to participants' professional growth or personal development. Explain how the session addresses a current challenge, provides valuable insights, or offers innovative approaches that can lead to positive change. Paint a vivid picture of the impact the session will have on participants' knowledge, skills, or mindset.
Identify and list the key learning points or takeaways that participants can expect to acquire from the session. Clearly articulate the knowledge, skills, or strategies they will gain. Focus on the specific competencies or abilities that participants will develop and how these will contribute to their success or growth.
Learning Objectives:
Use Bloom’s Taxonomy and start each learning objective with an action verb that clearly describes the observable and measurable behavior participants should be able to demonstrate. Consider higher level action verbs beyond “Understand, Learn, Know”.
Learning objectives should be specific and focused on the skills or knowledge participants will acquire. Avoid vague or generic statements.
Ensure they align with the purpose and content of the session. Each objective should directly contribute to the overall goals of the session and support the desired change or transformation. Link the objectives to the session description, emphasizing how achieving these objectives will lead to tangible outcomes for participants.
Start with foundational objectives and progressively move towards more advanced or complex objectives. This scaffolding approach allows participants to build upon their knowledge and skills throughout the session, leading to meaningful and measurable change.
Proposals will be reviewed by members of the 2025 European Meeting Programme Committee and judged primarily according to quality and overall fit to this year’s meeting agenda. The accepted session proposal will also be reviewed by the Recertification Committee for ISMPP CMPP™ Continuing Education credit. Acceptance is not guaranteed.
